DIRECTOR 'INTROS'

Pamela Blesh - President

  1. Pam graduated from Lock Haven High School
  2. Pam taught various grade levels in the elementary schools for 38 years, after earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Lock Haven State Teachers College and a Master of Liberal Arts from Lock Haven University. Additional credits were obtained from Bucknell University and Penn State University
  3. Pam is affiliated with numerous Professional and Social Organizations – PASR, Delta Kappa Gamma (woman of distinction award) Sigma Sigma Sigma, Clinton County Historical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, American Whippet Club, Pennsylvania Horse Association, Senior Singers, Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Arabian-Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association, Volunteer for Covenant Cafe
  4. Pam’s hobbies include music (playing the harp, piano, flute), line dancing, and exercise class
  5. Pam is the pianist for the Liberty Methodist Church and substitute pianist for Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, Mill Hall, PA
  6. Pam had enjoyed showing her Arabian horses (PKH Bald Eagle and Precious American) in the Amateur Western Pleasure Division
  7. Pam organized and with the help of many volunteers initiated the Animal Oxygen Resuscitation Mask Project for Clinton County
  8. Pam has a whippet, Magnolia. Being a certified therapy dog, Magnolia and Pam enjoy spreading joy and smiles at Susque-View Nursing Home and other places in the community. Therapy Dog Team--Merci Isle Magnolia and Pam won the American Whippet Club's Willow Award (therapy dog) 2023
  9. Hyflyte Fleet Fox-(whippet) is Pam's new canine companion.

Debra Mitchell - Vice-President

  1. Debra worked for Clinton County Government as an Executive Administrative Assistant for 37 years, retiring in December, 2014.
  2. Debra lives in Beech Creek with her husband (Charles) and their beloved Weimaraner, Lily Grey.
  3. Debra's hobbies include exercising/walking, bike riding, reading, wine sampling, shopping, yard work and a love of the beach and boardwalks.
  4. Debra had previously been a Board Member but took a short break to care for an ailing parent.  She is happy to be back on board and looks forward to helping Help For Pets in all their endeavors.

Deb Tarentella - Secretary

  1. Deb is the owner and pet groomer of Tarantella's "Sudsy Pup" in Renovo, PA.
  2. Deb started her career in the pet industry in 1983 when she took an Animal Sciences course and got a job at a Veterinarian's office in Virginia. When her husband's military career took them to Illinois, she worked in animal care at a large pet boarding facility and later a pet store. After returning to Renovo and raising her son, she made the decision to pursue her interest in pet grooming and attended the PA Academy of Pet Grooming in Indiana, PA. She opened the grooming side of Sudsy Pup in 2009 and added a retail pet supply store in 2011.
  3. Deb is a lifelong resident of Renovo, Pennsylvania (other than a 12 year stint in the military). She and her husband, Vince, live with their beautiful Husky, Ecko and cat, Izzy.
  4. Deb became a Board Member for Help for Pets in 2013. 

Christina Livingston Frank - Treasurer and Veterinary Liaison

  1. Christina, founder of HELP for Pets, earned her DVM from Cornell University. Previously she earned a B.S. in Music from Indiana University of PA.
  2. Christina lives in Lock Haven with her husband (Jeff), Asher (a golden retriever mix) and Pejjo (a German shepherd) who became deaf while serving our country in Iraq as an IED detection dog, and Brownie, a brown and white former barn cat who now rules the sofa.  All pets are rescues.
  3. Christina is a member of Great Island Presbyterian Church and serves as a core team member for Sleep In Heavenly Peace making beds for needy children in Clinton County. She also has a special commitment to Patriot K9 Rescue in Elysburg.

Sherri Cokefair

  1. Received both a bachelor's degree in biology and a veterinary medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating veterinary school in 2002.
  2. Upon graduation, practiced small animal medicine in Vermont for a few years, before deciding to move back to the area to be closer to family. 
  3. Opened Calico Creek Veterinary Clinic in 2008.
  4. Lives in Mill Hall, PA with her husband, 2 children, 3 cats, and 1 dog.
  5. Enjoys hiking, gardening, and wine tasting.

Krish Pillai

  1. Krish teaches Computer Science at Lock Haven University of PA - having earned a PhD. and an M.S. In Computer Engineering from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. Previously he worked for Nortel Networks as a technical advisor before deciding to become a teacher for good.
  2. Krish has 3 dogs, all adopted from various pounds in TX and PA.
  3. Krish hopes to be able to spend considerable time helping dogs and cats in need, and also think up ways to use computers to help them live happier lives.

Jo Ann Williams

  1. Jo Ann is presently employed by Supelco (a Sigma Aldrich company) in Pleasant Gap (38 years).  Her current role is Marketing Director, Analytical Chemicals and Consumables.  She has worked in various roles during her many years with the company.  Her job responsibilities have created opportunities for extensive travel in the US and Europe allowing her to make friends across the globe.
  2. Jo Ann was born and raised in Lamar, PA.  She has been married to her college sweetheart, David Williams, for 39 years.  They are blessed with 2 wonderful children, Matthew and Betsy.  Matthew and his lovely wife Stacy have 5 children and reside near Raleigh, NC.  Betsy and her wonderful husband Caleb, have 2 children and live near Philadelphia.
  3. Jo Ann graduated from Lock Haven State College with an ASBS in Biology and Chemistry.  She also has a masters certification in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a masters certification in Supply Chain Management from Penn State University.

Heather Corbin

  1. Heather has been in banking since 2005. She is currently the Community Office Manager at the Lock Haven Branch of Woodlands Bank.
  2. Heather lives in Jersey Shore with her partner, Josh. They hope to have a dog once they purchase a home.
  3. Heather is also a member of the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven.
  4. Heather enjoys spending time in the outdoors, with her family, and traveling.
  5. Heather wants to help ensure pet owners are able to provide the care that their furry family members need.

Jackie Parucha

  1. Jackie works for Lugg and Lugg Law Firm and the Clinton County Community Foundation.
  2. Jackie lives in Mill Hall with her husband (Mike) and 8 cats (and counting) - all rescued strays (can't turn down a hungry animal!).
  3. Jackie loves to read and do crossword puzzles - especially at the beach. She also likes biking on Rails to Trails, touring the wineries in the NY Finger Lake region, finding and trying out new Chinese, Indian and Mexican restaurants.
  4. Jackie would love to get a puppy someday -  one who could live with lots of cats.

Rona Houser

  1. Rona graduated from Lock Haven University with a degree in Journalism in 1994.
  2. She is the sole owner of Lucky 13 Cleaning for over ten years.
  3. Rona and her partner, Amy, have a golden retriever Cora, and seven cats, Cooper, Finn, Fiona, JoJo, River, Scout and Sydney.
  4. Rona is a service-oriented person who currently is on the Board of the Annie Halenbake Ross Library. She loves directing the Murder Mystery Fundraiser. She volunteers weekly at The Haven Cupboard, the food pantry for students at Commonwealth University – Lock Haven.
  5. She was the Co-Chair for the Clinton County Relay for Life for many years.
  6. Fun facts: She loves river season, playing trivia and other games with friends, and is an avid Steelers fan.

Alyce Baker

  1. Alyce teaches English at Lock Haven University. 
  2. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts in 2000 from Shippensburg University; her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2002 from Penn State University; and her Ph.D. in Literature and Criticism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
  3. Alyce enjoys watching movies, being outdoors, playing cards and games, and visiting flea markets/yard sales/consignment and antique stores.
  4. Alyce has three cats: Oscar, Sylvie and Winston.
